In the mountains around Lavangen and Fjellkysten there are fantastic opportunities to ski.
Our activities
The Fjellkysten have fantastic opportunities for a range of activities to suit all levels. Ice climbing and freeride for the toughest, or the owl watching and walks for the family. All are based on the nature around us and both summer and winter you can get great scenery.
Seefishing
Season: Vår - Høst
Lavangsfjorden is called “Norway’s quietest fjord ” the fjord is long and narrow and lies protected within the islands Rolløya and Andørja.
Hiking
Season: April-December
Here in Lavangen was Northern Norways first hiking destination opened 06.06.2011. We have 6 tracks that are marked by the standard of ” Innovativ fjellturisme”.
Birdwatching
Season: mars - july
The region around has a large variety of interesting bird species. Wetlands and river deltas, where you can watch on many different species.
Caving
Season: Mainly in winter, but also in summer when the water level is low
There are few who know about the amazing caves, we have nearby. But we know the way!
Iceclimbing
Season: April-Mars
We have some of the world’s best ice-covered waterfalls, which are challenging for most

Season: All year
Polar Zoo is one of Northern Norway’s most popular tourist attractions and is well known as the world’s northernmost zoo.
