Polar zoo

Polar Zoo is one of  Northern Norway’s most popular tourist attractions and is well known as the world’s northernmost zoo.
The park utilizes an area of 1140 acres of wild and beautiful scenery in Salangsdalen in Bardu municipality in Troms county. These natural surroundings set the perfect setting for your visit to the Polar Zoo.

Our biggest attraction is the Wolf Camp, where you have the ability to join in the enclosure to meet the mythical and legendary wolves up close.

A visit to the wilderness
Polar Zoo is more than a traditional zoo. They place great emphasis on animal welfare. They give the animals large areas to create as natural as possible situation for the animals. By having large natural enclosures, animals are stimulated their need for activity.
Their main goal is to create a Scandinavian wilderness experience with the beautiful surroundings of northern Norway’s nature as a setting for your visit to the Polar Zoo.
